Expansion of the capacity of the most important and largest airport in the Sultanate of Oman to accommodate 12 million passengers annually sees the completion of an initial step in reaching the ambitious goals of the airport company. The gigantic new terminals and parking blocks represented an enormous challenge for flooring installers, necessitating as it did the use of the latest machinery for floor treatment and processing.

Schwamborn grinding machines were the first choice here for major work on more than 100,000 m². The technical competence available locally enabled the Schwamborn representative in Oman to convince the client to use proven Schwamborn grinding technology to meet the tight deadlines in this project – technology Made in Germany. Several grinding machines such as the DSM 530S-650S and 800S were used here to grind surfaces in the parking block and terminal and prepare these for further processes. In addition, it proved possible to refurbish damaged surfaces and eliminate unevenness and irregularities.
