Cutter milling machines

When milling, the surface of the soil is removed by rotating cutters. A distinction is made between cutters milling machines (e.g. star cutters) and chisel milling machines for the deep removal of uneven soils or for soil rehabilitation. Our powerful cutter milling machines are characterised by a finer milling pattern, while chisel milling machines should be used for coarser and deeper removal of unevenness (from approx. 1.5 cm upwards).

When milling with cutters, cutters are loosely mounted on a drum shaft and act through rotation very evenly on the surface. It is important that the tips can just still act on the substrate. This results in an even flaking of the surface with a much finer milling pattern than when using chisel cutters. When it comes to removing irregularities such as protrusions, markings and depth removal from concrete and screed floors, our milling cutters are ideal for this.

BEF 400RC - Milling of concrete and screed

All of our milling machines can be equipped with carbide cutters or peeling cutters. This selection of cutters depends on the subsurface and the aim of the work to be carried out. 5-point carbide-tipped cutters, for example, roughen the ground evenly depending on the working depth, while 8-point carbide-tipped cutters with a smaller working depth can also be referred to as fine milling rotors. Peeling cutters are mostly used for softer surfaces or to remove coatings.

The front-mounted milling drum guarantees uniform milling results

The exceptional milling results are supported by permanent 4 x 4 all-wheel drive, which enables even and directionally accurate milling of surfaces. The front-mounted drum has the advantage of being able to com-pensate for uneven ground, ensuring uniform depth removal.

The low centre of gravity of the milling machines also supports smooth running and a uniform milling pattern.

The advantages of milling are its depth capabilities and the facility to compensate out considerable differences in height that are unwanted on site.
